6.4l dodge gas... Lets go ford!

Well got new petersen's today and the new 2014 ram hds will have a 6.4 hemi putting out 410hp and 429lb/ft torque. Doesn't look like ford can counter until 2015 now seeing how they already have 2014 on website. Just can't build them yet. I am very interested in this cause my lease is up on my f150 in may 2015. Next truck is a f250 so hoping ford does something good with 6.2 or gonna try and find a 3v v10.

Nothing wrong with the 6.2 platform at all. Just hope ford comes back with something to trump dodge. It will be nice to see the big v8 wars again instead of all the diesel rage lately. Seems like that is the trend lately.

I agree with getting the 3v V10, my '08 V10 would smoke my '13 6.2.

Yeah duals I have read your thread. I think ford could have bumped power up on 6.2 a little bit. Seeing that my 5.0 puts down similar power numbers. And the 6.2 is in a heavier truck. On ford site it lists power at around 360hp and 389 torque at 4100 rpm.

Problem with that 6.4 Hemi is; it's in a Dodge (Ram whatever).

People can say what they want, I had an 08 Megacab 4x4 Laramie Hemi and still miss the room in that truck. And it was far better put together than my F250 as after 4 years and 155,000 km there was not a rattle in that truck anywhere, this SD has more rattles in it than my old 94 Explorer does. On top of that the 2500 is going to have the option for a full Kelderman air suspension, now that truck is a game changer. Ford and GM better pay attention. As to the 6.4 Hemi, it is gonna be a pretty expensive option (abt 1400 or so) so it is not like Ram is just giving away horsepower.

Those megacabs intrigue me. They just look a little disproportionate to me. I think I just made up a word. Next go around on my new truck I am def. Gonna look them all over. My current truck was an impulse event kinda. I bet that mega cab was huge inside.

It was and you gotta like having recling rear seats in a truck, they would recline 35 degrees and I could store loads of stuff behind and under the seats as well as in storage boxes behind the seat. I think the new ones look way better than the Gen3 like I had. And I will probably go back to a 2015 Ram if we ever decide to get rid of the SD.

ncl-

Thought I'd hijack your thread, but just seen GM announced their 6.2L in the 2014 1500 truck is officially rated at 420hp/460torque. I would expect the HD truck would be slightly less, maybe 410/440? for duty cycles. You'd think Ford would aim higher than GM over Ram power figures? That'd be my guess. Guess we'll just wait and see how far Ford turns up the dial in the 2015 Super Duty.

Yeah they better do something big to that 6.2 everybody says a boosted version but I really doubt ford will do this. Just seems they would only reserve something like that for high perf. Truck like raptor. Just gotta sit on our hands and wait. Very frustrating but I guess it's better to be late to the party and see what everyone else is bringing before you unveil yours.
