I was looking at rock auto and these are cheap:

GB REMANUFACTURING Part # 722504

About $150 after i send back my core. I can handle that but I don't want problems with them. They come with a 15k 12 month warranty. Let me know if you have experience with them. Thanks!

I would be inclined to believe what you say since you are a moderator here. I am unsure which injector to get. There are different codes. I have a 2003 F-350 XL 7.3. It's either AD or AE.

AD - These are found in all late '99-'03 Powerstrokes and T444Es, and are a Split Shot Injector
AE - Long lead AD injector that was used to cure a "cackle" issue. - See more at: Riffraff Diesel: Stock Rebuilt Injectors

if you install a FRx (fuel rail crossover) then you dont need the Long Lead any more. It fixes the dead head at #8. This is my understanding anyway. If it were me and I was buying stock I would get them from RiffRaff. You will get better customer service than anywhere else.

If you want to go to a split shot injector I would by them directly from the injector rebuilder.

I believe you mean single shot, since the OP has the stock injectors and they are already split shot injectors.

Arly, I was just giving you a link to a cheaper place to purchase the injectors, if you decide to do so.

Clay is Riffraff Diesel and Riffraff is a supporting vendor here. He is also the Excursion forum sponsor and Clay has excellent customer service, as do many of our supporting vendors.

Another place I just thought of to purchase injectors from is DP-Tuner, the 7.3L PSD forum sponsor. I have no clue how much they sell injectors for, but DP has excellent customer service too.

I would recommend Rosewooddieselshop.com. You can't beat the price I've had good experience with them and so have many others.

I have also had excellent quality jekters from full force thru clay at Riffraff.
I will buy my next set from them thru clay for my own truck.

I will not be going with stock replacements however...

Your truck came with 7 AD injectors and 1 AE injector. The AE injector comes in the #8 cylinder to reduce the cackle that happens on some trucks. My 2002 came the exact same way. When I replaced my injectors, I just put 8 AD injectors in and skipped the AE. It's not needed and doesn't offer any performance or fuel economy advantage.

It was installed to give a longer pilot shot to help reduce the noise from the motor due to the lower fuel pressure that occurs when #8 fires due to the fuel rail in the head combined with the firing order of the cylinders. If you go with all AD injectors and you get the extra noise, install the fuel crossover as mentioned to help with the fuel pressure and that should cure it.

ArlyDude - I don't expect to hear back from you until after the weekend - but before I give my feedback, I need to know....
  • How did you determine bad injector(s)?
  • One, few, or all sticks?
  • Long-term plans for the truck?

I just got the truck back from my ford dealer. $360 later.

I still have 2 injectors faulty. I am buying them from riffraff now. I plan on renting the truck out to earn some extra money. Ford did a contribution test to make the determination. I am buying the autoenginuity program as well so I can perform the same tests.
