Cool Thanks. I already have the 31 Vic in flat tow on my puter. Ya must have posted it before. I have a slide show set up for like a screen saver and it is one of them.

The picture of the 31 Vicky behind my 49, Willard, was taken at the start of my cross country trip in 1978. I actually unhooked and drove the Vicky a bit on that trip.

I bought and sold classics in 99 and 02 and drove them all over the country. Was a really great time.

Southwind heaters are still used in airplanes....they have caused so many accidents that they now have to be pressure tested every year, and overhauled every 5 years. Combustion heaters are a true pain.

Looks like that heater won't be going back on my truck after all!

Those heaters still command a decent price on eBay and at swap meets.

Bought my rear end...

I finally bought my dana 60 today! the truck it came from was a 1962 Ford F250 Unibody Long Bed...the axle code on the tag was a number 24, so I was expecting to be a 4.10 gear ratio (I really wanted the 3.73, but was settling for this one), but when they finally pulled it for me, I cleaned up the metal plate on the actual rear end, and it is stamped with a 3.73! so I was lucky and got what I wanted!

I started removing the Timken today but it got dark and had to stop halfway...will resume on my next day off...

I also removed the heater from my truck and it is a Southwind like one of you guys said...I figured instead of trying to sell it I will just give it away, so if any of you guys wants it or know someone who might want it either to restore it and use it or for nostalgia just let me know and I will ship it for you!

There is an interesting article about these type of heaters here:
Southwind Heaters, Toasty Warm in 90 Seconds

Best Regards,

Luis
