I went with spyder ccfl black projectors. They didn't come with hids so I put them in. I have had them since December and love them.

Those Recons are a little out of my price range..The most I was wanting to spend was $300 but better cheaper....
What is "ccfl"??...And why did you have to put the HIDs in??...Was it a cheaper route??

Thanx for the advice

Ccfl is a lighted glass tube. Produces more light than the tradition halo ring. Spyder lights came with regular halogen h1 bulbs. I upgrade to hids. More light. And yes it was cheaper for me to instal the hids than have spyder or someone else do them. I got mine on carpart4u.com for around $300 during last December.

Sorry for my ignorance on this subject but WHAT cost you $300??..the Spyder lights or the upgrade of the light bulbs??...

I see the Spyder lights come cheaper with "regular" Halos so Im gueesing that is what you went with and you bought the HID and put them in...Is this a hard process??....BTW love the look of your truck

The Halos and the HID's are 2 different things. The Halos are the light rings around the main bulbs. The main bulbs have regular H1 halogens from Spyder. I upgraded mine to H1 6000K HIDs when I received them. The complete headlight package cost 300. The HIDs cost me 45 from my local stereo shop.

Spyder offers 2 different type of Halo Rings. The standard LED lit rings.
Special Deal Ford F150 Halo LED ( Replaceable LEDs ) Black Projector Headlights & LED Day Time Running Light Package at CARPART4U.COM

OR the CCFL lit rings which are brighter and the light is more evenly dispersed.
These are the ones I have:

All the lights also have a row of leds below main lights. All of these have to be wired to a power source. It comes with all the wire hanging out the back of the assembly. All that has to be done is: All power(red) gets tied together and all ground(black) gets tied together. Then they tap into whichever power source you want to you. I used my parking light.

Everything comes with instructions that are pretty well written and easy to understand if you can do basic wiring. Its not complicated at all, its just a lot of wires that have to tie together.

CCFLs are the way to go on our trucks. At least until someone comes out with SMD LEDs or the newest plasma rings from oracle. I don't remember the exact price I paid. It was on a Christmas special. The link I gave you is a labor day special. I checked it a couple months ago and they were up around $500. So my best advice is get them while they are on sale. That website was the best price I could find for a good quality light. I did days of research before I bought them. Read good and bad reviews on multiple brands and I have been very happy with my purchase.

Not auto zone. Most stereo shops/ car accessories place has them. At least around Houston. If you can't find them local then you have to order online.

Sexy lights brother! Man you got my wheels turning... I was thinking early Xmas present but the CFO wants to buy me the iPhone/iPod speaker set-up for the Road King so we can listen to some music while we are riding. Seeing as I've been putting more miles on the bike lately I guess thats what will happen. I'll put this on the Xmas "wish list"
