1995 Lightning Long Block in '81 F150?
As the title says - can a long block from a 1995 Lightning be carbureted? I am in the process of planning the rebuild of my 81 F150. It currently has a 302 and if you have read my "Piney's Rebuild" thread you will notice I am really debating which motor to go with.
So from a practical standpoint I can buy a 1995 Lightning long block for $2100 new from Ford. Is it as simple as putting manifold, carb, headers, etc. on and dropping it in? I know the motor has GT40 heads, decent cam already - seems like a mild performance build.
I really like this option as it gives me decent power. Any downsides to this approach?
Thanks!
Eric
