These Are GREAT Trucks !!

Well we're on the road pulling 35' fifth wheel. Travis AFB back home to Kansas. It's good to get back on the road, but hope the tropical rains let up tomorrow so we can get thru the desert. My puny chassis cab continues to be wonderful, 30K turned over yesterday, and if the weather cooperates we'll leave Bakersfield in the morning. I don't get to use the laptop on Travis, so it's nice to wait out the rain today, use the campground's wifi and see what all the great FTE people are up to.

Ron, you keeping things going OK up there in Wyoming it looks like. I think of you and all the other good people here often. I hope everyone had a great summer and is enjoying their trucks. So 1500 miles to go and back home.

I wish you all good health and happiness!!!!!!!!

Every day I'm still amazed how much I love this truck.

One minute I can be cruising down the road at 55 mph getting 20+ mpg, then hook on to a 30' 16k flatbed and barely feel it, then be at the stoplight when some ricer pulls up and smoke it off the line, and then head down to the local fair and hook on the drag sled and pull it out the end 300'

Nothing I like more than driving my truck(my wife just shakes her head)

Thanks to everyone here on fte for sharing their mods, tips, and suggestions to help make the 6.7 a little more fun

Honestly, this is the first domestic product I didn't want to kick to the curb after two years of ownership (the 6.4 was a real piece of junk).

I find it hard to believe how good the 6.7 made the F-350. Amazing how a fundamental engine / tranny change will change the personality of a truck.

Hi Jim,

Glad you're headin home and all sounds well. Sure wish you would cruise through here one day. Hey, while you're in Bakersfield, you should go see my oldest brother. He lives there. Yepr, everything's going great here. Ma and me went to Mayo's again last month for hopefully her last surgery. You travel safe, my friend. My only complaint is that there's only 24 hours in a day. Never seems to be enuf time.

Well, back home in Kansas, just pulled in this afternoon. Wow, it's hot and humid here. You'd think I'd be used to the crappy Kansas summers, but Northern California weather had me spoiled, but had to get home to see the other two grandkids. The truck did a beautiful job again, 1800 miles with about a steady 11.5 to 12.0 mpg. With 35' of Holiday Rambler 5er behind the bed, I was pleased. I only drive 60 mph, that's fast enough for me and with the 4.10 rearend the truck stays at 1700 rpm hour after hour.

Even though we thought we waited long enough to miss the monsoons between Barstow and Williams, Az we still hit a vicious storm just west of Williams. It was short but VERY intense. Even the semis were hitting the brakes and sitting on the shoulder.

I am thankful for a safe, uneventful trip. Now back to the yard work, yuk!!

Ron, I sure hope the Mayo trip turns out OK for the wife. You know I'll be pulling for her quick and complete recovery. Please PM me and let me know how the visit goes............Have a safe trip.

Wow, these are great trucks, I guess I already said that........Have a great weekend and go look at your rig and smile.

Jim

Going to have to close this thread if you guys continue to be happy about your trucks..... I am really impressed with what Ford has to offer with the 6.7L and Eco-Boost for the F150
