My '78 F150 has a homemade rear step bumper on it, I want to swap the rear bumper off My '80 F150 onto My '78, as it is an original bumper. Can this be done?

The sun is coming down so git yer butt out there armed with a tape measure.
My guess, a pure guess, is that it will not bolt in. C'mon.. I challenge you to prove my guess as incorrect!!!
I have been out in the sun all afternoon helping a friend, My a$$ is not moving outta the house till morning! Actually what I really am in need of, is a measurement of a stock bumper,so I can compare the measurements with the one on My '80.
If it looks like the ones in the pic it will fit and might be a direct bolt on? I hope so, cause its hot drilling holes and making brackets and working in the shop....

FYI howdy neighbor.
Howdy back at ya
It does look like the ones in the pic, except mine is not chrome
The only issue might be the curved part right around the bed ? Make a cardboard template of the top curve and see if it will fit, before you take it off of there.
To answer your question. Yes. It's a direct bolt on. The rear sections of the frame are identical to '78-'79 1/2 tons. They used the same beds from '73-'96. They just changed the quarter panels on them. Frame centers and mounting holes for 1/2 tons were all the same. Aside from some trimming (and you might not even have to) it should slide right on and mount in the same holes.
