[quote=xmontex4;13571753]The gauges will all work normal if you go by a conversion guide, but all the engine related warning lights wont work anymore because there are no electronics in the engine to say they are broken.

So does that mean the engine light will be on? I guess you could add gauges for all the cummins vitals right?

The engine light would be on, I believe if destroked or someone does the harness for you then they wire it so that the lights don't turn on. Not sure with a 12v ill have to look into that more lol.

I was originally going to run a zf6 but I feel that an auto in my truck would be better. My cab space is limited with the driver side glove box and my 08 console.

I decided to stick with a 12v but what should I look for when buying a motor? There is a guy in VT who sells them and all dodge parts do I will get the engine harness a downpipe etc from him. Also I think I'm going to shoot for 400hp because I dont want a drag truck just sonething to go fast when I want to and get good mpg.

If you are sticking with a 12v look for a p-pump motor .... I believe the years to look for are 94-98.

Will do, I may even if its cheap enough get a pre 94 motor with the VE pump and swap it over to a P-pump and fix the KDP. I'm not sure if the KDP was an issus with the 94 and later 12v motors though ill have to check into that. Whats a good mileage to have on a diesel though? I heard 150k is like just breaking it in.

If you're not gonna do much of a rebuild before dropping it in, try to find one with less than 200k on it. If you're gonna tear it down and build it back up, the sky's the limit.

Make sure u built the auto trans an get a triple disc converter. Iv had mine swapped for about a month or so now an it has started slipping already cummins had a lot more torque

I had planned on building it, is yours stock? I had planned on hitting around 400hp but not until I had built the tranny. Destrokeds kit doednt say triple disc do should I wait to get one from BTS?

Haha, man this thread has me really wanting to do the swap again. I had planned on doing this over this past summer until I found a great deal on a house. lol, it'll be a long while till I can afford to do the swap again.
