Smile I'm back in my truck!!!

The summer is winding down and my daughter returned from Army basic training Friday evening. Naturally she has regained control of her Focus and I'm glad to be back in my beautiful F-150.

This summer I logged only 400 miles on my truck and I logged over 2500 miles on the Focus. Doing the math, I only burned less than one tank of gas all summer in the truck.

The Focus averaged 33 MPG's in mixed driving all summer long and the ending odo reading is right 35K. It's easy to get used to the extra MPG's but the bad thing about driving a small car is that no one gives you any respect on the road.

I love my truck!!! We have a 400 mile round trip coming Tuesday as we move my kiddo back to college. That'll be a nice work out after being under utilized all summer.

Glad to hear you're back in the truck Tim! Completing basic training is quite an accomplishment, I'm sure you're proud of her.

Glad your back in your truck. You are right about getting 0 respect on the road in a small car though, its downright scary sometimes.

400 miles all summer huh? I put 400 miles on my truck in just the last 2 days lol

I hear ya on that. My father in law gave me and my wife a 04 Elantra for me to use to take to work and save some money on gas. Its a nice little car and it's nice to get 35 mpg but your right about it being scary on the road in such a small vehicle. I feel like I'm in a go kart when I'm driving it lol. But to save a little money and for a free car I can't complain! I do love getting back into my truck after a week of driving the car though

Congrats on b=getting your truck back Tim! I know it is a really big change when I get into my wife's little G37 convertible after being in my truck everyday. Although her car is really quick and you can power around people...they surely do not get out of your way like they do when you are in the truck.

Congrats on your daughter getting through basic too...although my basic was not like the Army's...I remember a great feeling of accomplishment after completing it.
