Question motor change

Hello to all!! I have now decided to change the y block/stand 3 speed trans for a 351c/c6 combo. I have never done this before and was wondering if any has some points i might need to help this go along great. Not like it will on my half! things always sound like a good idea till i start. I have to mount the combo in so i have to make what i need. I have good fab skills so thats not my problem. Please help if you can. Thanks Roger

Well if you have done a swap like this, any thing that you did or didnot do would help. Is there anything that would you not do or do better. this would help in my setup. They say two heads are better than one. thanks Roger

i swapped my flathead with 351w with t-5 trans. With my windsor, using the dual sump pan was better than the front sump pan. Not sure about a 351c though.

also have your streering rack on so you can put your mounts in the right place....

thats all i can think of for now.

Roger

No matter what combo you install, have it all handy before you weld the mounts in. Exhaust, floorboard and radiator clearance issues should be well thought out. Those items should be there beforehand. Don't convince yourself you'll figure out what headers and stuff you buy later. Weld in the mounts prematurely, and you deal with it to the end of time. Fighting tight clearances, and buying high dollar parts because you have no other option.
