Finally purchased the king ranch and unloaded the lariat

Finally unloaded my 2012 F350 Lariat and purchased a 2013 F350 King Ranch. Should have purchased the King Ranch from the start. Included are pictures of some things that were added. Other pictures will follow with the addition of a ham radio to the interior, antenna to the toolbox and an LED amber warning light plus LED flood lights to the headache rack. By the way, the auxiliary diesel tank is made by Aluminum Tank Industries, the headache rack is from Magnum Manufacturing and the toolbox is Weatherguard. I think these manufacturers are the best in the business!

I'm looking to purchase a F350 and you comment about "unloading" the Lariat confused me. I like the Lariat for the chrome bumper and the fact it doesn't come with options I am not interested in. What did you dislike about the Lariat?

Hello, Overall I was impressed with the truck, especially the all white exterior and chrome bumpers. What I did not like was having much of the interior being pleather. The only reason I made the switch was because of the King Ranch having the all real leather interior. If you are soon to purchase, I would highly suggest Vernon Auto Group in Vernon, Texas. This is my third F350 in 22 months and no one can come close to their price and the "lifetime" power train warranty! Good luck with your purchase.

Thanks for the quick response. I need to view/seat in the two and compare. I didn't know the interior was that different. Thanks for the advice.

Since you are still online, another question regading the installation of the ham radio. How do you intend to install it on the interior. Years ago I saw a F350 that was decked out with 4 captions chairs and a rood mounted console that ran from the rear view mirror to the back seating area. In this console was a CB radio mounted at a slight angle down from horizontal. Ever see this application?

Pic's are not possible. I just happen to come across viewing this truck when a friend of a co-worked stoped by to show off his wheels. If memory serves me correct, the owner went from picking up the the truck at the dealer's to the custom shop.

I am going to use the Lido Mount coffee cup holder mount for the control head (Kenwood TS 480AT) and will mount the main unit in the storage tray under the rear seats. The main unit is mounted on 1/2" plywood and this will be velcro secured to the seat tray to keep from moving around. The wiring to include power, microphone, control head and coax will be ran by a police/fire radio shop that has wired hundreds of F250s, F350s and F450s since they are the local experts. My antenna mount is on the toolbox which will be grounded to the truck frame. At the same time, the shop is going to do my bed flood lights and the LED warning light, all wired to the upfitter switches for power control.

Look up "Lido Mounts" for control head installation. They offer a variety of installation options. DX Engineering keeps their items in stock for quick shipping. My antenna is a Chameleon V2L.
