ignition switch auto turn on
Hello all,
When I shut down my '89 F350 4X4 diesel, the accessories don't.
I can remove the key jiggle the lock set and even the steering wheel,
then the accessories will turn off.
Then I can come back later and the accessories have come back on.
Doing the same ritual they will turn off.
I have run down the batteries with this happening.
I have now turned the radio up to give me a little warning.
Is there an adjustment that can be made?
Thanks

the ignition switch is on the top of the steering column, about in the area of the brake pedal. it is held to the column by 2 bolts, if memory serves correct, they are 7/16 wrench. you can loosen the bolts and adjust the switch.
but your problem may also be a broken ignition actuator.
99% of the time the actuator breaks in a no start position. but every now and then the actuator will break in a no shut off or shut the engine off but not the accessories position.
