Ford vs GM

I understand, but look at it this way. What you experienced is EXTREMELY rare. The 6R140 has proven to be a fantastic and generally tough as nails transmission, a massive improvement over the 4R100. I don't know what happened with yours (did they figure out the cause?) but I can definitely tell you that you have better odds of hitting the lottery than having another tranny blow up mysteriously.

Seems most of those vids pick on ford lol, go to show ford must be doing something right. I like the chev vid were they make the fords tailgate pop, personally can't ever see they need to make my ford flex THAT much

I still think the C6 an C series in general to be one of the best transmissions ever built.
I don't mind older vintage Chevy trucks or cars but I wouldn't ever want to own one. Being that I bleed Ford blue and just about everyone I know knows it, I'd be eating my words for sure. I much prefer the sound of a Ford engine, the blue paint and the body styles. I know a lot of the guts underneath are common between brands but that doesn't sway me.

Each have there good and bad points. I have owned all makes of full size trucks, as well as Ford and Chevrolet mid size, and a small size Ford Courier. I have not owned any full size "import" branded pickups.
I mainly prefer Ford full size trucks, probably drive nothing but them for the rest of my life, but prefer the S-10 hands down over the ranger. I do not care for the Explorer either, hence the Olds Bravada.
But again, no maker has the perfect truck, they all have there weakness and strengths. I do not believe in the Ford family thing either.. nor the GM family either for that matter. Both are companies that are in business solely to make a profit and if they cannot make a profit off of us, then would drop us like a rock. Family does not do that. Hence, I will not buy a Ford product just because of the blue oval. It has to fit my needs....
My two cents David
