Good Price for 302/FMX setup??
I've got a real nice '73 302, from a truck, and an FMX automatic, all together in a '79 Thunderbird, complete running setup, ps pump, alternator, a/c compressor, everything!! Enging has about 75k on rebuild,(plus I recently "refurbished" it) I installed a new oil pump, timing set, brass freeze plugs, valve cover & intake gaskets, ect, ect, its a great running engine, plus the FMX is in great operating condition, just serviced, while I'm not trying to sell this setup here I wonder what a fair price would be for a setup like this complete turn-key engine and transmission??
Thanks!!

Good luck trying to get what you want out of it or what you've invested! Unfortunatly, right now is not the time to sell. It is a major buyers market. You could try to get a ballpark figure from www.nada.com or do a search for resale values on your favorite search engine and see what you turn up. I have watched a lot of cars come up for sale that someone has dumped a lot of money in only to be disappointed when they try to sell it. I saw a custom 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo that was totally custom and in showroom condition that they took the time to put in a balanced and blueprinted 454 in and it only brought $3500 at the auction. The guy cried when he turned over the keys. I figured he had several more thousand in it. Basically, don't get your hopes up that you will cash in because you probably won't.
I used to buy and sell cars for our family car lot a few years ago and still buy and sell on the side. I would venture to say, if it is in really, really good shape, maybe about $1800-$2200 on a stretch. Otherwise if it has been fairly worked over and shows it, you're looking at a lot less. Keep in mind that without seeing it or checking it over myself (or anyone else) you will just get opinions. Probably varying greatly.
Hope this helps.

Folks, I was just trying to see what a ball park figure for an engine and transmission by itself, complete with all accessories as I mentioned above, not a whole car, the '79 TBird that the setup is in is kind of rusty, so I'm considering parting it out.
This 100% complete setup would bolt right into any '67-'79 Fseries 2wd truck without modification.
