For those with hydra

My new hydra came in today and was waiting for me when I got home. Figured I'd get it programmed and installed, but there are no instructions and I can't seem to be able to get hydra flash to recognize when I plug up the chip.

I emailed Php and I'm sure they will get back to me in the morning, but I just wanted to ask and see if I was doing something stupid. Am I supposed to wait for an activation code?

Are you using custom tunes, or just what comes from PHP? If not custom, you shouldn't need an activation code. If you do need a code, be aware they are one time use. If you program the chip the first time on your desktop, then want to use a laptop later with the chip in the vehicle, you'll need another code.

No, stock tunes. Nothing custom. I guess since you say I don't really need an activation code for stock calibrations, then my issue is the chip isn't being recognized by my computer. Maybe I'll try a different cable.

I haven't installed it in the truck yet, wouldn't think that would effect it though.

No, I programmed mine sitting on the desk the first time.

I'll carry it to work in the AM and try it on my desktop. Maybe it's just my laptop not recognizing it.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you are setting yourself for disappointment if you think PHP will get back to you right away or at all.

I've never had any issues. I've actually talked to Corey via email several times in the past few days.

I think I programmed mine in the vehicle. I got mine from Matt and he emailed me the tunes for me to load myself.

I'm hoping the issue is with my cheap gateway which I was told was worth its weight in cow spit. It simply won't recognize that there's anything plugged in, except it would charge the phone.

Jeff, IIRC, there are drivers on the USB key that have to be loaded for the chip to be seen. Did you install those? You can download them from PHP's site, as well.

Nope. I looked for something like that but not very long. I'll poke around again. It really feels like a driver issue to me.

Also, there wasn't a USB thumb drive in the box, it was a disc. I'm assuming it had all the same info on it though.

Yeah, get 'em from the PHP Support|Downloads|USB site. I bet that does the trick. Sorry I didn't think of it earlier.

Well, tried downloading the USB drive that I found on the website.

With no change... Guess I'll try again tomorrow. Really was Hopi g to use the whisper mode at the drive thru in the morning lol.
