Hey all, when I lock my hubs I have a knocking in the drivers side front. Im thinking the u joint is getting weak. Is it hard to do? Ive got tools and time but im limited with 4wd experience. Shop wants $400 and well, thats not gonna happen..... thanks for the help everyone!

 

 

They conveniently left out the part where they install that $50 + seal. You need the correct seal driver OTC # 6695 or make your own. There is no way it's going in by tapping around it.

Thanks for the info! Now, ive been ready and it seems like the hubs can go bad too. Could the knocking rattle sound be the hub? How do I determine if its the u joint or hub? I think the ujoint is above my expertise.....
