Lower my new truck

First off I tried searching the threads for info but for some reason it won't let me type anything in the search drop down.
I want to lower my 2014 FX2 supercrew 2/4. Can't seem to find any drop spindles for it. What are you using to drop your trucks. I don't want to change the driving or handling of the truck any more than necessary. Any help is greatly appreciated

The vary second you lower that suspension, you just changed the way that truck was made to ride and handle. If you lower just the front you also changed the Camber on the front suspension.
Most people on here don't lower a new truck (), we may go taller, or level them out though.

not sure if you found this thread or not.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-2wd-f150.html

the guy who started the thread went with a belltech 3/5 drop, as did Go-on-3.

good luck!

Truthfully, I'm not much of a fan for a lowered truck. But, some of the trucks pictured in the link above, are SWEET! "F" series truck do set up pretty well from the factory, and my truck does show quite a bit of wheel well that looks like it should have a much taller tire, and they are the stock tires and wheels.
I sure don't like to see a truck on the ground though.

I'm not looking to slam my truck, that's for the younger folks, lol I was thinking about 2" front and 4" rear. I'd like the truck to be level and I don't want to raise the front to do it. I have a 2 yo grand daughter and getting her in the car seat would be a little easier if the truck was lower. And it would just look better. I don't know why they have to have the rear of the truck that much higher than the front to start with. I may just drop the rear level with the front and see what happens.

After seeing some of the trucks that were lowered a couple of inch's, I did go the Belltech's web sight and did some pricing. For my truck, a 2011 F150 Super Crew 4x2, it's priced at just under $1000, plus I'm not able to do that stuff anymore, so add installation too. So I guess it isn't going to happen.
Good luck with yours though

looks like belltech offers some lowering shackles for about $100.

they have 1" and 2" drop shackles available.

I would think lowering the back 2" would make the truck as level as lifting the front 2", which is generally what people are doing to make them level.

not sure what this will do to your pinion angle, though. something you'd want to check.

I'm one of the odd ones on here. I like the look of a lifted 4x4, but I like the look of a lowered 4x2 just as much

I don't mind the look of a raise truck if you are putting some bigger tires on it. But for the stock configuration, I always thought the 4x4 looked a little too high from the factory. I think a couple of inches lower would be okay.
However, I'm not one to modify my trucks, so I'll just admire all the beautiful trucks on FTE to get my kicks.

I am the one from the Belltech 3.5"drop n 5.5" rear kit .it ended up being a LOT of work and more money than I planned. Now I feel I need 20" wheels to make it complete. This weekend I get to install a air lift rear bag kit so I can start using my truck again. Since lower kit my truck has become useless as a truck.no heavy trailer or quad in bed with out bottoming out on bump stops. I do love the way it handles and I think it looks great. Be careful with belltech front drop adjustable struts as people claim they don't work with 14' A arms. Something about the way the bottom of the strut bolts into the A arm.

Is your truck running factory 18's or 20's? The stock outer diameter will be close but you'll negate you ability to change tire size most likely.

According to Ford's website, the 4x2 trucks are sitting 2" lower than the 4x4 trucks. That is a natural height for American trucks these days. I would have to echo all the concerns already posted above.

For the price of a kit plus installation, you'll likely look at around 2K. You may take that much of a hit on trading the truck in on a smaller SUV and the truck would still be useful.
