Color code and under hood paint '64 F-100

Guys,
I have two questions, not sure if this will screw things up, but here ya go!
<O</O
I purchased my truck and it was already painted and unfortunate not the same color it was originally, I want to say the white is a Wimbledon White, and the blue not sure. Admiral blue?? <O</O
How can you tell if it is clear coat or just enamel paint? <O</O
<O</O
Next question is: What is the black color used under the hood? Seems like a semi gloss black? <O</O
Thanks <O</O

Guys,
I have found that a semi-gloss or matte black is the finish under the hood. It does come down to personal taste. I have read enamel is about the best to use as well.
If anyone has an idea as to the blue color on my truck, would be good to hear.
Thanks..Hammy

I know when a concours restoration is done on something like a 1968 Cougar GTE or 1969 428 Cobra Jet many will use PPG DP40 in the past. Epoxy for great protection and the right amount of sheen to it. Maybe discontinued through out the whole U.S. which leaves DPLF40.

Guys,
Hate to bring up an old post, but I was working on my truck last weekend, had a drill in my hands (a beer in the other..opps) and the drill bit ran into the blue paint on the exterior by the cab pillar. OUCH!! Yea I was not happy with myself, told the boss (wife) i will have to have it repainted. See turned three shades of red, no pun intended. SO, as i would think this color combo is stock for I have seen it on other slicks, the white is Wimbledon, the blue?? As I know it is hard to look at a pic to determine, thought maybe someone had the same color and get me closer to a match. I have a paint shop up the road, they tell me I can give them part of the truck with that color and it will take WEEKS to determine the color code.? Any ideas would be helpful..?
Thanks,
Hammy

I dont know about the blue, but that is a good looking truck. I am in the process of restomodding my 66 and used a semi-gloss enamel under the hood. Looks good to me.

jacob,
Thanks. Yea I picked it up two years ago. Had to go thru the complete truck, was painted when I bought it, the PO didn't have any idea as to its past so paint is unknown. HAd a nother member tell me it may be Academy blue, 64 color.
I ended up buffing the inner fender wells, looks good for I want to say they are the original fender wells, left the dings and chips in it to give it a more original look. I did do the complete underneath in semi gloss enamel as well and yes it looks good.

Yea I am leaning toward the Viking blue as well. I will get some Viking blue mixed up and will see, at least I am down to two different ones.
Thanks again,
Hammy
