1950/51 Ford F1 project Title "5150"

Just started my first Restore.

I just finished sandblasting my fenders yesterday and will begin tubbing the bed this week along with installing airbag mounts on my IFS and IRS.

I purchased this truck with the following:

  1. Jim Meyer Mustang 2 IFS tube A-arms
  2. 97 Ford Thunderbird IRS with Posi
  3. Flaming River Manual Rack and Pinion
  4. Galvanized Truck Bed
  5. Almost perfect Cab with no rust looked like it was stored in a garage
I am trying to get some information for which small 6" diameter bag to use in the front as my A-Arms are narrow. Also want to have my rear end hubs re-drilled to the 5 X 4.5 as it is currently 5 X 4.25 and any information on how to have them re-drilled along with any issues I could experience, and I need to know which Rear drums would work after I re-drill my hubs.

That is it for now.

Welcome. Nice looking truck so far!

Instead of re-drilling the hubs, I'd try to find wheel adapters.

Will Wheel Adapters be strong enough and not pose any safety issues? Seems kinda sketchy but I don't know much about them. I will definately be burning off with the 20" Wheels that will be tucked up under the rear.

Check the web site Super Coupe Club of America sccoa.com they have lots of info about upgrading and changing the bolt pattern to fit 4.5 pattern and changing to mustang hubs and rotors in the rear.
