covering up it's little bottom... undercoat

I need to get a coat of undercoating/sealer/something on the bottom of the cab... I'm gonna make it pretty down to the flat part of the floor (firewall.toeboard) then coat the bottom..

what works best... bedliner stuff or undercoat \?? suggestions ?? spray or roll on or brush... ???

I've been considering one of the bed liners - They seem to take the weather and the pounding they get from loading and unloading
I would roll in on in your case - Your not going to drive it that much and the thicker would help protect it as you roll it on and off the trailer

the PO in my case did 2 coats of bed liner spray on to the firewall, undercarriage (including underside of fenders) and running boards. ... from the looks of it, it looks like rhino liner product.

having lived with it for 10 years what's my thoughts and opinions.....
don't spray over pristine sanded perfect smooth primer, it wont stick... under the fenders it is pealing off in orange rinds.

running boards take all the abuse in the world and look the same as the day I got it... they aren't all glossy and smooth like paint, but you can't tell they've been working for the last 2 years.

would I do it myself... running boards absolutely. I've seen a number of small stone scratches and hate doing the eggshell dance so prefer the functionality of a working truck.

Wait!!! Ol' Penn Dick stuffed the knife in?
....and I wasn't around to rub a little salt in there?

Dang, I must be slipping.

I was considering the roll on bed liner stuff for the underside of my truck (someday). A couple of coats should go along way for protection, sound deadening, and insulation. I think you can even get it tinted to match your trucks color.

subjectively I'd say it changes nothing when it comes to sound deadening.

anyone familiar with this stuff

Monstaliner Monstaliner do-it-yourself roll-on truck bed liner outperforms Herculiner Bed Liner, Duplicolor and Rustoleum Road Warrior

tintable and seems tough at Penn Dicks heart
