Fuel Tank Problem

And I thought I was done for now..

I had problems with my fuel, prior to all the work did.. it seemed like i was running out.. loss of power.. sometimes it cleared by switching back and forth between tanks.
Yesterday, my e-fuel pump gotten loud and my fuel pressure dropped.. I was suspecting the fuel switching valve.. but eliminated it by checking for free flow.. today i pulled the fuel sender on the front tank, and took my airhose and blew threw the lines.. had some big chunks of something hard coming out of the pick up tube.. it appears i have several small black pieces floating in the tank, and since i do not have a pick up strainer, they got sucked up into the line..Parts place didn’t had anything , so i used some fine brass mesh i had from my model stuff and made me a pre-strainer.

Now my question: is there some sort of coating inside the tank, that is separating.. ? I also seen some rust spots.. not sure , if this is normal...
Should i just replace both tanks now, since my rear tank leaks somewhere , if more than 3/4 full ? i heard some people use bronco tanks?

thanks again for all yall’s help

You can do a 38 gallon tank on the rear and eliminate the front tank and selector valve.

You can also clean and seal your existing tanks . I do that on bikes often . Gettin ready to clean and seal my 53 tank . Just a thought ! Oh , some of the tanks do have a problem with the coating comming off and clogging up the works .

I do like the idea of the larger tank as well.. But I sure would need to know, where to get the tank and the sending unit . I looked at rock auto, but the largest they show is the stock 33 for the bronco... Or I use a 19 front and a 33 rear , but that still would require the switching valve .
