New GPR buzzes

I just warranty replaced my AZ special GPR. The old one had a crack in the body. The same thing happened to the previous one. I put the new one in and cycled the key and it started buzzing pretty loud. I turned off the key and tried again. No buzz. But, When I tried a third time, the buzz was back. I'm not talking like a florescent light buzz, I'm talking you can hear it clearly from 20 feet away. I'm thinking that it's pretty much impossible to hook it up wrong. Any ideas? Could the posts be reversed? I can hear it click when it turns on.

Yeah, those life time warrantys are great. They'll keep giving you new ones so you can spend your life replacing them. Do yourself a favor and by OEM parts. If you get them from the right sources they are often close in price to the junk from China. Oh, and I don't know why it would buzz that loud, sorry no help other than what I stated above. And believe me I'm not trying to be an azz, but over and over guys get screwed with after market stuff and wind up getting OEM anyway. Once in a while someone gets lucky, but its seems to be rare.

My guess is its just another quality autozone product! I would bring it back and try another new one. I bought an alternator for my Jeep last year from Autozone in Ottawa. I installed it at my house in Marseilles. I only made it half way to Morris before it failed. That's why they have a lifetime warranty, because they need it.

lol. I've been through 6 alternators. Luckily they're an easy swap. I've done the last 3 in the Morris AZ parking lot

About 7yrs ago I had to replace my GPR and got one from NAPA. Well my GPR LED,"great little mod." told me it was time for a new one. I ordered one from RR, Tousley, or Bob, can't remember, but got one from NAPA while waiting for the OEM to keep as a spare. Well 4mons. later I needed the spare. The new one from NAPA was chinee, while the one I replaced 7yrs ago from NAPA was made here. I took back the failed one and commented to the parts guy that it was another quality product from China. He went in the back and came out and handed me a new one that was made in the USA. He said, Last one I got. It was identical to the OEM that I had ordered. Just goes to show ya.

My main concern is the fact that I replaced the GPs a couple of months ago, and want to make sure that I didn't somehow F something up causing the problem, which will then burn up a new one again
