351w with c6 to 4 speed switch
Ok I have a 83 f150 with a 351w and a c6..I want a 4 speed in it..
I found one out of a 1984 302 and my question is are the bellhousings n shafts going to match up?
I know I'll also need the flywheel n clutch linkages..but is there anything else I'll need from the 302 truck?

The bellhousing will match. You will not need clutch linkages, you will need the clutch master, line and slave setup, the clutch is hydraulic. You will also need the pedals of course.
Is this a 4x4? If so, the tranny lengths are pretty close and the driveshaft should fit. If these are 2wd trucks, I am not sure you may need the rear driveshaft from the other truck.
I would also follow the wiring up from the tranny, and see if there is a plug under the brake booster. Unplug the wiring there and get all the wires and plugs going to the 4 speed if there are any. And then unplug your auto wiring and plug the 4 speed wiring in place.
Pull the carpet up and get the floor plate for the 4 speed.
If you want a complete job, you can get the steering column and you won't have a shifter there that does nothing. I drove the pin out of the shifter and got rid of the arm, but I still had to take a piece of wire and tie up the linkage under the hood so the keyswitch would turn(keep the linkage in park in the old column).

Also, the firewalls on these trucks were designed without taking the pressures from hydraulic master cylinders into account. So they need to be reinforced or there is a high probability the firewall will crack - a which point you have a huge problem. I highly recommend the reinforcement plate made by Terrapin Mfg.

If the donor truck is still handy, check the sticker in the door jamb. Look under where it says "trans" for a single letter.
"F" is a Borg-Warner T-18, 4.02:1 first gear
"A" is a New Process 435, 6.68:1 first gear
"P" is a Borg-Warner T-19, 4.02:1 first
All three use a cast iron case, but the 435 is the only one with an aluminum top cover. If it has dual PTO ports it's a T-19, single PTO port and a cast iron top cover it's a T-18.
