Electric "STOOPID" loud horns..
Hey gang, I have acquired some electric marine horns, no compressor, and want to install on the Excursion. I bench tested them and I am soooo excited to get these on because for some reason I cannot find the cloaking device deactivation switch in the cab. People seem to not see me ... EVER.... and are always pulling out in front of me...
My question is wiring, how do I determine if I can simply replace the stock horns with these, plug and play so to speak. I am unsure if I need to run a separate connection to the fuse block and supply a new switch in the cab.
These literally have 1 ground and 2 hot from the the base.
Thoughts, suggestions????

buddy of mine works for hornblasters....not really my bag just to annoy people...but I have to admit more than once ive been behind someone clearly not paying attention to the road due to a cell phone (call/txt) and id love to make them **** themselves or perhaps lose control and drive headfirst into a bridge piling...and even then they would probably still finish their text.

You'll need to find out how much current the new horns require. If it is 10 amps or less (even though the stock circuit is usually 20amps) then you can use the existing wiring as most cars and trucks use FIAMM horns from the factory. If they need more than 10 amps you can use the stock wiring to trigger a relay circuit to pull power directly from the battery. Here's an example of that wiring:
That said... these things can be extremely loud! We've had trucks come in for state inspections and we have to test the horn.... well.. if they don't warn us ahead of time it definitely gets some attention! Laws do vary state to state but excessive honking or horns which are too loud can be subject to fines if you are caught. Use at your own risk....

FWIW, finding the horn in the fender can be a bit of a PITA. I have a compressor and air horns on my X and wired a switch on the dash to select the factory, or air horns/compressor, depending on the circumstances. The wiring is only slightly more complicated, and most of it is done underdash.
