Just woundering if anybody did a motor swap from a 00 Explorer to a 92 f150 4X4. an is it worth it i know one has a distributor and the other don't. is their a big difference between transmission shift ponits. the Explorer engine has 215 horse an the 92 150 4X4 5.0 has 185 horse. i got 330,000. miles an Explorer has 177,000. miles. To do this swap you will be removing all the fancy Explorer EFI components(intake, coil packs, DIS module) and installing the complete intake and distributor from the '92 truck motor. With that done it'll bolt into your truck(with the existing truck flexplate not the one from the Explorer) like it was meant to be there and if you have any kind of free flowing exhaust on the thing it'll make 250-260hp easy, the only reason that motor only made 210hp in the Explorer is because it was smothered with a restrictive exhaust system.

Is the module in the place of the distributor an do i have to use a still gear on the distributor. the firing order don't matter useing my computor. what you thank about the 177,000 miles it looks like they took good care of the Explorer till they wreck it i'am getting the motor an rear end. Thanks for the info Paul.

The module in place of the distributor in the Explorer motor is called the DIS module, pull that out and insert your distributor.
Your '92 truck motor should have a roller cam in it which requires a steel distributor gear so you should be good to go.
That's right, do not modify any of the injector wiring on your truck but make sure the spark plug wires are routed for the 13726548 firing order not the old 302 firing order
That's a lot but if it were all highway not so bad.
No you can't use the MAF meter from the Explorer.. your truck is not setup to use it.
Both sets are 19lb so it won't matter use which ever are in better shape.
