Please help with f250 super duty
So my 2000 Ford F250 super duty is having a problem.
its a v10 auto, 4x4.
when i take off I can feel something sort of shift like a weight, I can also feel this when I brake but feels like in opposite direction. I have checked the ball joints, steering up front (power steering pump is failing) and everything from what I can tell feels tight on this rig.
It also has a strange wander down the road at times other times its fine. I suspect that is the tires though as I have two bad tires on the rear I discovered while trying to balance them.
any ideas? aside from the tires the truck just doesnt feel secure like there is something loose or something.
thanks

i only grabbed the rear wheels and shook them kinda like checking a ball joint, but everything on this truck is 5 times heavier than what I am used to.
I will put a wrench to the u bolts tomorrow, i didnt see anything abnormal with the leaf spring mounts or bushings but I will give another look tomorrow on the lift.
can center bearing on drive shaft produce this problem? I can move the drive shaft up and down a bit (not like failed bearing but more like worn out rubber around bearing) at this point.

Well in my experience, it could cause vibration but not a "weight transfer" like you are describing. If you feel it when stopping and accelerating, And it IS something in the suspension, I would come to an abrupt stop in your driveway ( make sure you feel it when you stop) and have someone watch the suspension components while holding the brake and gas pedal (power braking). Repeat a couple times if you need to to pinpoint or at least get some idea what's going on. Firstly though, you can tell alot by looking. Look where the u bolts attach and where they go around the axle. Look for wear, rusty spots where things are rubbing, that should not move, gaps between brackets and the frame, etc. 3/4 ton parts are heavy and you can't always tell by hand. Id use the power of that v10 and try let it show you what is wrong! Good luck and let us know what you find! Ps watch the front suspension as well. It will pre load a bit if you power brake it but nothing should clunk, bang, or move much to speak of.
