Has anyone used Mann filters on a 6.0 over multiple oil changes? I am wondering how they are because I just used one during my most recent oil change as Wally World was sold out, and I discovered that the Mann filters on Amazon are nearly half the price of the Motorcraft filters at Walmart. We have Amazon Prime, which includes free two-day shipping, so shipping costs aren't an issue. Has anyone used these on their 6.0 before?
Mann are some high quality filters. I use them but not on a 6.0
Been using them on my volvo forthe last 4 years. Had to order them online for that car.
I tried to get a local store to carry them for my 460 but I have to order those online as well.

We've been using them on our Audi's for ~10 years, and they are great filters. I suppose it can't be much different.
I would just stick with Motorcraft personally. For the whole $16 its not worth the risk to run something aftermarket, especially when stock does such a good job. Cheap and Powerstroke diesel should not be used in the same sentence IMO

these always turn into this but really do some research...
My only justification for thinking the Mann filters do a good job is that they are actually OEM filters for many German makes. Our Audi dealer uses them as their filters.
Well, does anyone have some proper evidence? Don't get me wrong, I think Motorcraft makes some great stuff, but the tolerances in a German-tuned engine, so I would think that a Mann filter would fulfill the necessities of a Power Stroke.
ok, I am not going to get into which filter is better, but blanket statements like "It's German, so it's better" or "Germans have tighter tolerances" is the dumbest **** I have ever heard.

I know, and I wish I hadn't said that. I don't necessarily think it's better, but equally as good. I don't understand why this is so heated.

because Motorcraft is god around here. There were lots of ****ty results from aftermarket filters being used and damaging engines due to the fact that they blocked the bypass or something like that. I won't won't pretend to be an expert. Therefore the general rule of thumb is not to skimp on a 16 dollar filter that could potential save you heart ache down the road.
Exactly!! There was 100's of thousands of dollars on research. Ford owns the patents to the 6.0 filters so there is and never will be an exact fit. 6.0's are picky, Its your engine if you want to skip on 16.00$ I also believe that the "German engine tolerance" line is not very true, more of an invalid statement. A tolerance is a tolerance.
