Also notice that the "FORD" letters on the hubcaps are indeed painted. We talk about that quite frequently. And it looks like black paint?

Notice the running boards are dirty, so much for cleaning it up for the photo shoot. That's Live Action! Nothing stays clean long in NM!

Check behind the rear tire on the first picture. Is that the bracket as well? I'm assuming two different trucks because of the license plates.
Also, are those scratches on the fender in the second picture?

Oh, Very cool pictures.

I think those are just reflections on the fender. The bracket you see in the picture with the horse are the rear fender braces. I don't see the rear brackets on that truck.

Not the fender braces, look to the right of that, hugging the tire. I think maybe it's the frame rail. It's got two big holes. Right above the exhaust pipe.

maybe since it has license plates (and a sticker in front window). this truck was already sold and being used prior to pictures.

AND an owner installed his own aftermarket bumper, but the ford city slickers took if off for the photo shoot.....

Looks like something light weight was mounted like a roll pan, even the exhaust is bent down to clear something.

I've seen that truck before. Here's a front shot of it;

I don't think they are factory Ford pictures. It seems to me that they might be from a book about an old out of print book about Ford trucks but I can't remember.

I found some more...
Bobby, the pictures look too high of quality to be scans of an old ad, but I'd swear they come from Ford archives. I'm pretty sure I got them off Alder Jewell's site (Flickriver: Photoset 'Ford Trucks' by aldenjewell) but I don't have time to go thru all those again!

Harrier, Now I see the bracket in the horse picture! It does seem to be there.

What's that sticker on the windshield in front of the rear view mirror? Is that some sort of license for NM?

It appears to be a state sticker of some kind, maybe a temporary license? Has the zia symbol used on all state stuff.

Yeah, Virginia requires a sticker on the windshield like that for verification of inspection and county taxes.

NM had a real basic inspection program before I moved here, but having brakes that work, brake lights, two headlights, wipers, and tires with actual tread on them was deemed discrimination against poor folks, so they dropped it. So now you see total POS's all over, metal-on-metal brakes, people driving for months on temporary spares, windshields that someone went thru....

I would venture to guess all those pictures are stills from some Ford promotional film. They all look like part of a story. Ford did have their own movie production department. If it is, it would be really cool to see.
