Do I replace it or not?

Project truck is going back together. Tying up the motor and have a quick question.

It's a 96 300 six with 160k on the clock. I've got a new oil pan and gasket. Do I replace the pump or no? What would you do? Too many conflicting results when I search...

Thanks,
Bob

New is most always better. With 160K I would give her all the advantages I could.

Another vote for a new good quality pump. Cheap insurance.

Alright that settles it. Was going to go 2 out of 3. And new is better was my theory... I've just heard people saying don't mess with it, just clean the screen. Melling pumps are pretty good, right?

Ya I have used Melling with no problems in some pretty scrappy engines.
Again never a problem. Hi out put is best.
