Newbie question

Hello!
I'm new to the forum and have a question for the seasoned F350 owners on here.
I've been driving a 2001 Dodge Ram Cummins 2500 for last seven years. I recently sold the Dodge and have decided to give the Ford F350 SD a go.
I have been researching all models of the F350 from 2003 to present. While they all seem to have their pros and cons, I've narrowed my search to either a well kept low miles 2006 Lariat (pre DPS filter) 40k miles for $25k, a 2010 Lariat w 2k miles for $40k or pull the trigger on a new 2012 Lariat w Scorpion for $51k after Ford and dealer rebates.
I am looking for opinions own which truck you guys think is the best truck of the three.
I pull a 25ft bumper pull travel trailer and an 8x12 raft trailer, vehicle will be used mostly as weekend recreation vehicle.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Welcome to the forum. I think the 6.7 is the best engine yet since the 7.3.

Hello and Welcome! I've got the 2005 F-350 6.0L Power Stroke and it's great for towing.

Buy what you can afford.

If you go the used truck route no matter what year get an OAISIS report from the dealer.

My 06 has treated me well, I have no complaints about it, I would buy another 6.0 in a heartbeat.

If money were no object I would have a brand new 6.7 in the driveway. Several on here have them and love them, they make great power and have decent fuel economy too, plus the electronics and interiors are second to none.

No matter which truck you pick it will be leaps and bounds over that old Cummins.

Good Luck and remember without pics. it doesn't exist.

My dad has a 2004 6.0 & only 1 EGR Cooler failure in all these years & he's HARD on that poor truck too

I have a 2006 6.0 & so far in 2.5 years of owning it in which i immediately added a slew of A/M Power Adder's (stock is not an option for me) ive had ZERO problems with mine & it pulls the 5'er without breaking a sweat

Buy what u can afford (i hear the 6.7 is a great engine) but Don't be scared of a 6.0 either........Good luck

I am now the proud owner of a 2013 f350 SD. First Ford since my 1975 f150 which I sold before leaving for boot camp Christmas Day 1989.
Now to figure out how to post a pic or two.
Thank you all for the input!
