Good score! That'll be the most fun for 350.00 that you can have!(with your pants on that is!).

Good score, the back half is worth more than what you spent on the truck. Not often do you see a short bed with tool compartment. Also a correct looking tailgate.
What does the bed floor look like?
The sheet metal doesn't look to bad as far as fenders go.
After you get it cleaned up please post more pictures.
Great score for the money.

Maybe even a 352 in it! Looks like a bunch of the Custom Cab aluminum trim pieces are there - around the front windshield frame, around the tail lights and front parking/blinker lights, both headlight buckets and the grill is likely aluminum as well - under the paint.

SWEET SCORE! -- BarnieTrk

Man if I could find a swb 57-66 in that condition for that price I would be jumping on it like you did. Agree with the others nice score.

Yeah it does have some rust in the cab floor and tailgate. I dont know how someone flipped the hinges on the hood. I had to take them apart to to un-flip the hinge so i could shut the hood. The underside of the hood is all bent up for the hinges. I need to find a steering wheel and a new gauge cluster. Overall i can't be happier.

How rare is the bedside box? the vin is F10DR649520 i need to look into it.

Thanks for all the commits i will take some more pictures

Thanks guys. I do feel like i hit the lotto

I wouldn't say that the bedside tool box is rare, but they are a desirable option for many owners. The tool compartment boxes and are usually found in trucks equipped with the 8-foot box; and more common with those equipped with the Camper Special or Custom Cab option packages. Personally, the tool compartment doesn't do much for me.

Based on the VIN, the 'F10' indicates it is a F100 2WD. The 'D' indicates your new-to-you F100 was originally equipped with the 352 V8. Is there an engine in it now? If so, which is it?

Based on the 'R', it was manufactured at the San Jose, CA Assembly Plant.

Finally, based on the last six digits of the VIN someone should be able to tell you what month/year it was manufactured. Just guessing, I'm thinking it was built in late '64 or early '65.

Great 350 dollars to spend. Hows the bed floor look and the cab mounts/floor pans? If you strip the paint off that grille carefully it should pretty good. Nice find.

I was a I-5 Auto Wreaking yesterday in Napavine, Wa., and they just got in a 64' SWB that looks to be in about that same condition but it's not a custom cab.

It doesn't matter to me if CC or SC Im just looking for one to rod. Where is Napavine in relation to Seattle and will they sell the whole truck. Once a vehical gets in a pull and save over here they don't want to talk to you about buying the whole rig. They probably figure they will make more off the parts than selling it whole.
