might buy a fleet truck 99 f450 with 6.8L and am wondering the longevity of these motors, also are they known for blowing out spark plugs like the 99 5.4L I had, thankx

 

The motor will run for what seems like forever. If the plugs haven't been done, it's only a matter of time before one pops. It's up to you if you are willing to deal with it.

How many miles are on it?

 

148K, has a pto so hours are also on this engine, are there aluminum heads on the v-10 also?

 

Mine has 245,000 miles and runs great.

 

Mines still kicking a$$ and taking names at 311,000. '99 E350

 

2002 V10 E350 235,000 miles. Great motor. Torque plugs to 28 ft lbs and you won't loose any. I have changed mine three times and no damage to the threads at that torque and none loose. Use only Ford plugs. Two valve motor in mine and 4.30 gears with F250 rear end in it, tows great. AE
