That is so awesome! Glad to see the old girl still has some life in her. Try that 60 years from now with a new car and see if you get the same result. No way! They just don't make them like that any more.

Does anyone know where I can get tires? The size for this truck is 7.50-20. I have found one site that has the size but the tread seems too aggressive and it doesn't say how many miles it can handle. I been having trouble finding this size tire on the web.

Hey guys I do have another question. I did find tires that should work. I just need to order them later when I get all wheels ready. Now, the question is, Does anyone know of an old international box truck or school bus with a DT-466 in it? Someday I want to put that diesel in this truck. The DT-360 should work too but I know the 466 is easier to find. Anyways, Have a nice day.

Been a while since I have updated you guys. I am sure many of you know a side project can take while when you have a job/jobs and limited funds. The biggest accomplishment I have is the title is in my name and I am receiving the plates shortly. Skipped titles are a process let me tell ya..

With that straighten out I have just been slowly getting wheels blasted and painted for new tires. I have just 2 more to do! I know progress is slow but at least it is progress. Here is a photo of the passenger side with my new tires.

Awesome! Nothing like a new set of tires for gettin' er back to work. I have a very similar truck, but it's the short wheelbase. Looks like you have the script stakebed. That's a really nice truck you have there!

Thanks! I did look at the bed last time I was at the truck. It does not have Ford Scripted on the back. I believe at one point it did. I can post a picture next time I work on it. The frame and bed have about another foot welded to it. Someone must of had to cut the original back end off to add more length.

Can you detail the tire story: brand, type, seller, cost?

Yea defiantly. The front tires are 7.50-20 the Rear tires are 8.25-20 In order for me to get the more aggressive tread on the rears I could only find a bigger size. Brand name is PowerKing. This is the only brand to my knowledge I could find new tires for this size. I can PM you the link for the website. I can't remember rules if I am aloud to post a website. Expect to pay a couple hundred for each tire.

I'm missing the reason for that??? I've jump started a bunch of 6 volt cars over the years with 12 volts, including flattys.
Mather777, I'd leave that old truck intact until you decide what you want. If it's a usable truck on modern roads, find a good running donor F-350 and swap your other cab onto it.

Some slow progress. I was able to get the bench seat re upholstered. I did not really want to do it at the moment but in order to get a quote I had to take it out and drive to the place. I ended up just getting it done. May be hard to tell cause it is inside and wrapped. It does look nice. I am afraid now to install it and sit on it.

Been a while since I have posted on here. Been having issues getting it started. I think the battery died again. To make it easier from hot wiring it haha . I need a whole new wiring harness. Anyone know who sells the best? I am having issues getting info. Also, is it possible to rename this thread, 1944 Ford 1 1/2 Ton.

Google your harness Bud. Must be 100 places that sell them.
And that is a simple system. Prolly only 10 main wires in it.
Get the new seat in with the new tires and take her for a drive.
A toggle switch and a push button and away ya go.

And we need more pics. Most of your old ones don't work
anymore.

EH it was quite a bit. I was quoted 500 and the final end product was near 700. The material had to be all redone though so most of the cost is padding and vinyl.
