1st Annual Inland Northwest Truck Show
Hey guys,
I took Buford out to the 1st Annual Inland Northwest Truck Show, out in Post Falls, Idaho this weekend. The turnout was a little thin, but I'd chalk that up to it being the first show, and also that the weather was seriously sketchy.
The show itself seemed to be primarily geared to big rigs, but when I called the show coordinator and asked him about it, he said, "No, it's open to any truck.....what are you driving?" I told him I had a '79 F250, and he responded "Well, you can park right next to me.....I'm driving a '78 F250". Sounded good to me, so I went out on Saturday.
I showed up, and sure enough, he had his '78 blue and white F250 there, with one of the coolest canopies ever built. It's one of those old Wildernest canopies that 'pop-over' into a tent. The front bumper on his F250 was from a 1967 Peterbilt that had been shrunk to fit. I think it looked about perfect on the rig. He also brought his '76 F250 plow rig (the yellow one), and parked it on the other side of Buford for good measure. What was funny, was when I popped the hood on Buford, he walked up and said, "Well, that guarantees that I'll not be opening the hoods on my rigs......holy cow!" I guess he approved...lol I told him he should have opened the hoods anyway, and apparently he didn't agree.
There were some interesting trucks there, and Buford sure did get a lot of attention from folks. The big rig guys appreciated him as much as the public did. If the weather is good next year, I'm probably going to go back to see if it gets bigger. Anyway, I figured I'd drop a few shots for you guys for good measure, and maybe to spark interest in next year's show for those that are in the area. Enjoy!

If you're in my neck of the woods in two weeks you should check out our annual car show, it only has about 4-6 dentsides on average, it's primarily 60's and early 70's muscle cars....but we get over 400 cars from the inland Northwest, not bad for a town of only 3,000
