I thought it was already at the top of the list for years now. Criminals use vehicles and vehicles that can run into things or carry lots of stolen things are popular with thieves too.

Plus the door handles are STILL as easy to break into as they were in 1999.

 

I think that is referring more to the older models? I thought the new '11s and up were almost impossible to steal with the chipped keys??

 

Think again sorry. From what I hear in Houston they grow legs and walk away.

 

The statistics that put the F250 at the top of the list include all insurance claims for theft, including things stolen from the bed of the truck. Since so many F250 are used by the trades, they acknowledge that it doesn't necessarily mean that the trucks were stolen, only that there was an insurance claim stating theft as the cause for the claim.
I'm also surprised to think that a truck like this doesn't come with a real alarm system built in. Having to pay extra for an alarm seems ludicrous.
