LED Headlight Bulbs
Maybe I have been in a cave for awhile but it seems like the market is exploding with LED headlight replacement bulbs. I have been doing some research on them but there is a lot to digest. I bought the Euro replacement headlights for my 56 which uses a halogen bulb...there is a direct fit LED replacement bulb available now and I am thinking that this is the way to go. Anybody try these yet?

That is a good question and was one of the primary reasons I made this post. I did some web searches and found some info on various brands...some had great reviews and some were very bad. One product's reviews (almost unanimously) said that they were good only for looks and were definitely a hazard if one were to attempt driving at night with them. On the other side, I found a product on Amazon that had an installation video within the listing. These LEDs seemed to be very bright and definitely a step up from the stock halogens. Like with most things, cost followed quality...the poorly rated LEDs were inexpensive and the good ones cost more. When considering a $39 poor product or a $114 good product the choice is easy to make. One of the things that surprised me was the fan that comes attached to the back of the bulb assembly...I guess that when you are producing that level of light that even an LED generates some heat.
