I'm new to this site although I have browsed it often. I trashed my 7 pin connector on my 01 ford f150 and needed a replacement. I went to my local advance auto parts store and was given the Hopkins 40955 multi-tow connector. I should've read the reviews on it from ford users because it doesn't work well with f150's like it says it does. My question is I now have to hard wire the damn thing so does the purple wire get capped or do I have to wire it somewhere. It should be noted I tow a 5th wheel with electric trailer brakes.
