gauge

ok guys and gals i know im new to the site but im having a bit of problem with my 08 f250 6.4. on the gauge it says my truck is over heating but its not what can i start with besides the sensor it self. thanks in advance

The temperature sensor must be shorting out to ground. Try pulling the wire off the sensor, and if the gauge drops to zero, it's the sensor. If you short the wire to ground, the gauge should show full scale, so if the gauge still shows full scale with it pulled and not shorted to ground, then the wire is shorted to ground somewhere on its way to the gauge.

Thanks ima do that today wen I get to the shop
