305/55/20 and stock/oem 20" wheels
OK guys and gals.
I just recently put on the 1.5" ReadyLift level and I'm already getting the new tire itch. I've searched high and low for confirmation as to whether the 305/55/20 on the oem 20" wheels will rub the upper control arm and knuckle. I think it's going to be VERY close, but I cannot for the life of me find anyone with a 2004-2008 running 305/55/20s on oem wheels.
I have however found a pile of 2009+ guys with this setup, but I do not feel good using that as a guide. I know NASSTY had these on his previous truck, but his Roush 20s were not stock specs.
Any input/advice/experience/pictures would be a great help.
Thanks!

you can run 325 width on the OEM wheels and it's about 1/4" from rubbing.
those 305's on 20" rims will be about 3/8" or so from rubbing.
used to be alot of guys running those tires. unfortunately since I ditched my truck in 2009 I lost all my good info links for the F-150
have you considered a 275/65/20? it's a 33" tire, so upsize of 1" over your OEM 32's. and you won't take as big a MPG penalty as the fatter 305's

Hey Tylus, long time no see.
Currently I'm running the 275/60/20 which is the 1" upsize you're referring to.
I've considered the 275/65/20, the 295/60/20 and the 305/55/20. I would be going with the new Toyo Open Country AT2 in whatever size I end up with. I'm loving the looks of this tire and the reviews I'm gathering from other forums is pretty stellar. The more I look, the more I like the 295/60/20 as it's slightly taller (33.9" per Toyo's site) and not as wide. Also it's not as heavy as the 305/55/20 (74 vs 62lbs).
I know that I'll like either of the 3 sizes, but I'm sure I'll like one more than the others. I like the width of the 305 and the stance it'll give, but I'm thinking that the overall appearance, and chance of less of a hit in performance and mpg in the 295 might end up swaying me in that direction.
Just looking for overall input. I've been searching this forum, the other forums I won't mention, plus Google images for the different combinations.
