Yeah im not sure they are supposed to be black from the factory.

If it has been dusted the blades wont look as sharp. They'll look as if they have been sandblasted.

Blades looked good to me, no play at all in the wheel (I'm pretty sure the turbo was serviced not too long ago)

That is not a factory OBS compressor wheel. That's an SD compressor wheel in your turbo. Just an FYI.. That's an ever so slight upgrade by all rights.. That wheel moves a little bit more air.

The blades are spaced evenly. The OBS wheel has staggered pairs of blades. 5 pairs, IIRC.

I just hope the K+N didn't ruin it. Looked like the edges were pretty sharp. I feel alot better now with that new filter in there. Next project:Coolant Filter Kit.

Just a FYI. The NAPA 6637 is not a water resistant filter. If you drive in any wet weather, you risk damaging the filter and it will suck itself in

The Donaldson B085011 is a direct crossover but water resistant material

That is an interesting tidbit.with the location so close to the hood/fender seam that is a consideration.

I've run std 6637 filters for about 8 years and never had an issue, but that is valid information. I've just never bothered and always use the 6637
