'55 F100 here. Want to stay with the look but I'm thinking an up-to-date motor might make a better daily driver. Any of the later Ford 6s a straight bolt up to the original 3 speed transmission? Might it be better to go with a modern motor and trans?
Can't help but think that one of those 300 inch 6s and a C6 might make for a real sleeper... Sure would be nice to find some off the shelf mounts to do the job..
Search the forum, there a few guys here, including me, that are dropping in 300's. I can remember how much information i have documented on my build post but is named "Dear Diary . . ."
Continuing to read and learn here. Another question: Other than the engine mount, a late 70s or early 80s pickup with the 300 I6 and 4/5 speed manual would have the stuff I need for a 300 I6 and manual trans swap Yes? No?
