My 1950 Ford F2 build!!

Hey guys I bought my ford f2 about a month ago! Stripped it Down to the frame. Cleaned all the rust off of it and sprayed it with undercoating.. I got the front kingpins rebuilt and also the front suspension is rebuilt with all new bushings.. I removed a few leaf springs to soften the ride and lower it a bit. When I got the truck the original flathead 8 was in the box. And it came with a running 6 cyl flathead and transmission. Tore the original v8 apart and going to take it to the machine shop (family owned).. In the mean time I cleaned up the 6 cylinder and painted it and ave it mounted in the frame until I can get back to wisconsin with the other engine. Truck had some jail damage on the roof so I'm in the middle of doing the bodywork on it. Also got a new master cyłinder and new wheel cylinders for it. Getting ready to run all new brake lines. I'm going to do a somewhat factory restoration and trying to do almost everything myself. I'll keep updating as I go along! I'll try uploading pictures soon!!!

Welcome RPM! You have been quite busy - I applaud your focus.

The work you have been doing it familiar to most - engine, brake, and suspension/steering fixes. You were fortunate to have a choice of flatheads. I'll start the requests for pictures (there is a short tutorial in the 'Tips and Tricks' thread at the top of the listing. Also, good to have a location - sounds like we have another Cheesehead in the fold - update your User CP profile (link is on the upper left within the blue ribbon. The Advanced Search feature of this forum will allow you to check out existing threads on common topics as you might have need.

Sounds like you are headed for a restore - any back story on the history of your F2?

Oh yeah, another Wisconsinite (I hate the term "Cheesehead") and with an F-2, welcome aboard. You have to tell Duane and me where in state you're located. We're both within ten miles of each other, just north of Milwaukee.

Hey yeah I'll get some pictures going up here soon I'm actually living in billings montana but I'm originally from Wisconsin and plan on moving back to Gods country in a few years!!! The trucks out here in this dry country are in great condition compared to the ones in wisco sine.. It's a very solid f2. The rear fenders have a little rust on them where the steps meet them.. Same in front fenders. Then the rears also have a little rust on the backside of them along a seam... It seams that is common with these trucks... Also the fronts have a little around where the front bumper hooks on.. Then just a little on the bed from the old wood and leaves and crap sitting in there I think... Like I said I'll get some pics up I have a bunch of them on my iPad.. I just been sanding... And sanding... And sanding... Lol. I'm going back to wisconsin in August for my brothers wedding and to get my wire welder and engine hoiste... Lol. I use to live in the very southwest corner of wisconsin just across the river from Dubuque Iowa... Lived in a small town called new diggings... If your into Harley's you may have heard of it... Lol

RPM - thanks for the info. Haven't been to New Diggings but certainly familiar with the sweeping vistas and spectacular countryside in that part of the state. When you left town, did they change the population number on the signs?

Good choice of dry weather trucks. Where about in MT? There's a FTE member or two in Big Sky Country.
