'66 with 352, thermactor and air conditioning.

My '66 came with thermactor. I can manage to get the system back together, but I would like to add period-correct A/C. Does anyone have a schematic or drawing which might explain how the dealer made the addition of the A/C paraphernalia to the smog motor?
Eric.

240/300 I-6 or 352?

If you want to remove all the T/E related parts, you'll need these:

C6AZ-6052-A .. Plug-Cylinder Head Exhaust Air Supply / 1/2" -20 x 1 11/32" / Used to plug T/E holes in cylinder head.

1966/68 240/289/300 / 1968 302 / 1966/76 FE engines.

1965/66 F100/250 dealer installed A/C is very similar to 1965/66 Mustang. This is a recirculating unit, has nothing to do with the heater.

The chrome 'hang-on' bezel is the same, contains the blower motor and expansion valve. Uses the same York compressor, condenser and dryer tank.

What is different are the mount & drive kits, A/C hoses. Bezel contains 4 round registers (O), 2 switches (o), arranged thus: O o O O o O

1965 bezel is painted light argent surrounding the registers, while 1966 is painted dark charcoal.

Yeah Bill I have the system off and holes plugged but I would like to re-install it with an A/C system i scrounged years ago. (Many of the A/C parts bear Ford numbers so I'm guessing it was a Ford dealer add-on. Got it from a '67 crew cab.) I'm hoping there's a drawing or at least instructions because the air pump and hoses complicate things.
TIA Eric

1967 used the same 'hang-on' A/C as 1965/66. 1968/72 is totally different, and there were three different types.

But, I still need to know the engine size.

It's still a 352 as stated in the title above.

The only pic I can find is of the T/E system for 1966 F100 352, but it's not much help, as it doesn't show the belt routing. There's no F100 352 T/E with A/C belt routing pic.

Eric, I think I have a picture in my file of a 428 motor that still has all the pulley, belts, and air pump still attached to the motor. Sorry, no pics of routing. I don't post pictures here but can maybe send you the pic to your personal email. Just send me a request.

Does it show the AC idler and belts etc? I've got the thermactor figured out; I need to mate it with the AC stuff. The T-bird would have p/s which would make it even more complicated, but I'm seeking something unusual...

yes Eric, I checked and I do have pics of the motor with the original stuff on it. Just make copies of it and take it to a salvage yard to find what you need. The ONLY thing that has been removed is the power steering pump but the bracket is still there so you can see what it looks like. This is a 67 428 motor but the same parts on this motor are pretty much like others.
As I said above, if you want the pics, email me and remind me to send them. Email addy is in my post above.

Only A/C available for 1965/66 F100/350's had "hang-on" dash bezels.

Left: 1966 F100 352 T/E System.

Right: 1968 car 390/428 "hang-on" A/C with or without T/E

Very grateful for the photos from (the Masked Rider). Appears quite daunting especially if I want to add the p/s pump. My A/C brackets etc, although stamped C7, are a lot different than the 428 stuff his photos show. However, my thermactor pieces seem to be the same, which is to say very different than the equipment on the 428 on the cover of Steve Christ's FE book. I want the thermactor only because it's interesting. Maybe it's not that interesting...
