My rear brake line junction block bolts to the axle housing if I remember correctly.
'55 F500 may be a bit different though!

Yeah, that's what mine does. I'm must missing the other end of the brake hose. It's just a metal brace that the hose and brake line meet up in.

I could probably build one just as easy as anything. It more bugs me that I lost it than anything.

Parts catalog symbols: C = F1/F100 / D = F2/F250 / Y = F3/F350 / T = F5/F500 / TL = F4 / TH = F6/F600

2078 is the rubber brake hose / 01T-2078 .. Rear Brake Hose-17 15/16" long ~ 1948/52 F2/F6 - 1953/56 F250/600 / 1948/56 misc.

4022 is the 'shouldered' rear axle vent, retains the junction block in place by passing thru it, threading into the housing.

Well now that is interesting. I just ran out to my truck and I just have a bolt instead of the axle vent. I do have an axle vent a few inches toward the drivers side on the axle. It could have been replaced with a bolt over the years. But, why would they need two vents so close together?

By the way, the part I'm missing back there is 2073.

Here is a picture with the vent circled and the junction block just to the right. I don't know if you can tell that it's a bolt.

Fortunately MidFifty has it. I will need to build up a parts list before ordering to offset the shipping charges.

Hey!! They also sell the center block fitting vent...maybe I should get that instead of my bolt. I figure Henry wouldn't have made the special vent if it wasn't necessary.

Henry had nothing to do with it, as he was forced to step aside in 1945. Edsel's son, Henry Ford II, soon to be known as "The Deuce" became prez and CEO of FoMoCo.

Henry died in 1947, took his last ride in a Packard hearse.

Not only do I regularly learn about these trucks. I get good history lessons as well. Man I love this site. Thanks for that info Bill. Cool stuff to know.

The vent really needs to be right on top, or have a hose out of it going up to the frame. Is the vent you have a "jiggle cap" or a hose barb?

Well, I would guess it's a "jiggle cap" the cap on it spins but won't come off.
You know, if you guys would just come visit me, you could really straighten me out on some of this stuff.

But the problem, at least in my case, is that: California Missouri is a looong way from Hacienda Heights California.
