Fram, Wix vs. Motorcraft Air Filter

Changing my air filter today.....just wondering if there is any difference between the Motorcraft and Fram, or Wix.

My truck is a 2006 F250 4WD XLT with 104,000 miles. Also doing the Blue Spring Mod, and cleaning my EGR.

Just wondering if there's any negative issues with the Fram, or Wix?

P.S. I did a search, and could not find a comparison.

Here is a link to a video concerning aftermarket filters and although they do not refer to air filters the OEM/Donaldson filters are what should be used.

Thanks for the video....interesting! I do not use anything but Motorcraft (Donaldson) for my fuel, and oil filters.

Just wondering about the air filter.

the ford air filter is treated to deal with moisture should any get in thru the air inlet. Doubt the cheaper will fit would have that.

The original Donaldson is a white/tan color, they released a better one that has blue filter media. I would stick with the OEM/Donaldson.

The fuel and oil filters are OEM/ Racor and the air filter OEM/ Donaldson

The Motorcraft white filter and blue filter are both oem. The blue is also a moisture barrier. The blue was stock on my 05 and that's what I stick with.

I STICK WITH OEM AS WELL

with normal on road use OEm filters will go 100K

I changed mine at 80K and the filter minder wasn't even at half yet

I didn't notice a MPG Incress or Power or anything with the new filter But I felt better about it LOL

I believe the filter minder works well but IDK

only time I have saw the filter minder light turn on on the dash is when the filter minder itself Imploded

I made a mark on my filter minder back in 08 and it has never moved, how do we know this is working? OH and the OEM filter still looks like brand new.
