Aussie Brianb's truck saga

Another mysterious black box
The saga continues.
I was working under the dash on the passenger side fitting some more sound proofing to the floor
and bottom of the firewall when I discovered this:-
I had no idea it was there!
Did a bit of digging on the net
BD-Power PressureLoc Transmission Control
and discovered it is a superceded product that is meant to be used with an exhaust brake.
It apparently increases the tranny fluid pressure so that it enables the tranny to stay locked
when decellerating so that the exhaust brake works with automatics.
I had a look at the turbo outlet I recently replaced and it is not a BD exhaust brake, it's the
standard Garrett outlet.
I don't know why the PO fitted this thing and can't see that it is of much use.
I would like to remove it but don't know what this will involve so if anyone knows anything about
these things then all advice will be appreciated.

Aussie BrianB, sorry for the belated reply - could your box have been used by the PO who had a mod to engage the EBPV as the exhaust brake?
Initially I was looking at the EPBV to exhaust brake mod until I found out that decel clutches in the auto are only half the size of the drive clutches. The box you found would get around this problem when exhaust braking in D. Not sure if it could help in 2 or 1 positions though.
