El Camino Mans 7.3L Build Thread
Hey guys. I had a few threads floating around here with basically the same info on each so I decided to start a build thread to help straighten things out! Ill also include pics when I think about it lol.
So heres where Im at:
Stage I Injectors & 6 position chip from Swamps
S366 Turbo and all that goes with it
Already have 3" DP and 4" exhaust
Already have 6637
Head studs, pushrods, and springs for insurance
Possibly E-fuel?
I have yet to decide on what Im going to do engine-wise. I may keep the one I have with a scored cylinder and rebuild it, buy a parts truck, or purchase a used one.

Has anyone said anything about the trans situation yet? You definitely need to address that.
Also, if you plan to get new nozzles on your new injectors, go ahead and upgrade the nozzle. There's no reason to buy all new stock nozzles, IMO, when its the same price for larger nozzles. Get some 80 or 100% nozzles. If your reusing the stock nozzles to save money, run the stage 1s. If you want new nozzles from the beginning, step them up.

Oh crap. I forgot the S366 and stocker are different DPs. I hope I can address this while the engines out lol.
As for trans, my father-in-law rebuilt his 4R100 with all the best parts and he spent around $1500. I think this is the path Ill choose for that. Hes a pretty smart cookie when it comes to transmissions. Im far from it lol.
I plan on getting some good gauges also. Theyre kinda important lol.
I chose stage I injectors mostly because I didn't want to over-fuel my engine. I thought about those Stage III Hybrids buuut I think that's overdoing it

I looked up some E-Fuel threads.. my head hurts lol. A lot of guys do custom set-ups and don't use a lot of pictures. Then they start explaining the hardware they used and where they put it... Then im WAY lost. Does anyone have a thread or better explanation of what this all incorporates?

Ahha! Kings E-Fuel is the best so far, although there is still a TON of questions left... Like how do you wire the dern thing?!
I see he used his stock fuel lines also. That's much easier! So you just cut a gap in the lines, slap this stuff on the frame, plumb it in, wire it, and go? I got quite lost in the "under hood" portion of it

Or you can ask our handy electrician Nate! (DIYMechanic)
He did the wiring for Todd's truck lightning fast!
And most make a mounting bracket out of steel welded together to hold the two filters and pump down on the frame. And on the drivers side of the frame where the selector valve is there is a small section where it goes from stainless steel to rubber hoses. People usually put the filters there and plumb directing in-line.
Sorry im terrible at wording it, but hopefully you get the jist.
