Give me a parts list

Ok got a guy gonna do a rebuild for me. I need a full list of all parts I will need for a good solid HD rebuild 500-600hp goal.....annnnnd go!

He is going to charge me 600 for the build and give me a 2 year unlimited mile warrenty. I'd like to keep the parts bill at 2k or less.
That will keep my total bill under 3k and make me happy happy happy.

I don't think it can be done Ben. Before my trans went, I was searching for auto rebuild parts and I was coming up close to 4k.

Like I said before, I'm not an auto trans guy, but I'm not sure you can get a 500-600 HP E4OD built for under 3k. I'd say just the parts will cost that much for that kind of build, but I may be wrong.

Here's what I got so far tell me what I'm missing
T.C.-350
V.B.-250
Racer x ultimate clutch kit-519
HD driveband-18
Clutch clearance kit-25
Transfer case gasket-5

All prices are verified not guesses from the rebuild kit down is from racer tc is a diamond t from KT performance rated for 650 HP VB is either a bts or jw

I've been told by two different diesel builders I won't need shafts if I'm not going over 600hp and in all honesty I bet I don't break 500 with this truck

It's not really the parts you put into as its the machining done to the trans

Thus is the only full kit that I know off. And after talking to Brian at BTS he said if built right it should handle 400-450 with out any machining to the trans

My 97 destroyed an E40D after 250,000miles. The clutches were still great believe it or not, but it destroyed the overdrive gear. The truck has mild tunes in it with mini swamps injectors. That was a $3000.00 build. My point is, it's the parts that you normally re-use in a rebuild that failed. My truck would make 400hp at the wheels if I wanted to run some hotter tunes. I would guess that a good, dependable rebuild would start with a good housing, and then fill it up with non-OEM parts if you are looking to make 500hp. Is there anybody on here that makes close to those numbers with an E40D that wasn't built by JW ir BTS?

Darin has to be right around 400 with a guy that builds his race car trans. He used red eagle clutches, Racer X TC and VB. I believe Darin has even said its a good build, but probably one that can't get abused to much.

The bottom line is that if you want a reliable 500hp trans, there are only a few options and the cost is not cheap.

That seems like a lot of bologna. Lol. So your sayin no one make 500 HP with a e40d that wasn't from jw or bts I know two guys here round me who just put HD guts in their stock housings and are pushin more than 500.... is bts and jw payin you guys to say that why would there be kits out like I've found plenty of good company's have if they weren't worth anything?

They might be pushing 500 on their trans, but for how long? How reliable is it going to be if you use that 500 all the time?

No body's payin' me. It's just that many of us have been around for a while, and we have a good idea what works. In my opinion, $3000.00 is a lot of money to spend for something that probably won't do what you want it to do. What kind of warranty comes with it? BTS and JW do stand behind their products. I don't have either of their transmissions in my trucks, but, none of them are making 400hp either. It's your money, and you may be fine, I don't know.

My concern also is upgrading the planetaty gears from 4 to 6 pinion.i was looking for my dream build.i got 3k in parts real fast..but it was red eagle clutches.kolene steels.converter it would b a caddilac build.
