I've decided to put off overhauling the trans in my 95 F150 for another month because I want to replace/upgrade the torque converter at the same time. I figure its better to do everything at once if I'm going to have it disassembled anyway. Two questions:

1- what upgrade triple-disc torque converter do you guys recommend? Not necessarily looking for a high-RPM stall just something that can handle some power because I'm planning to supercharge this truck eventually.

2- my friend Ben is a Ford certified master tech who might behelping me with the rebuild but if he's unavailable I am still going to attempt to take the overhaul on myself. I've read several articles and looked at pictures but they are only limitedly helpful. I've never attempted to rebuild a transmission before. Is there a how-to guide, preferably a step-by-step specific to the 4R70W with a list of any special tools I will need to rent from Autozone? Any help in this is appreciated. I know the basic idea behind overhauling a transmission but I want to be as prepared and educated as I possibly can so I don't screw it up. Part of why I want to do this myself is for the learning experience and the way I learn is by doing...everything I know how to do with a car is self-taught by doing research before taking on a particular challenge then just picking up tools and diving into it...rebuilding an automatic transmission is one of the few things I've never attempted before.
