So I am rebuilding my 429 motor and CR will be around 11:1. I was thinking of adding meth injection (like a Snow Performance kit) until it dawned on me why not just go with E-85?

So, I know I need a special carb for this fuel but what else am I going to have to do? Running E-85 thru my 35 year old fuel tanks could be asking for trouble. I could remove them and try cleaning but am I asking for trouble?

Has anyone else converted their high compression dent to run on E85?

It takes about 30% more E85 than gasoline. You will need a fuel supply system capable of this increased volume demand. Quite possibly the factory diameter fuel lines may be too small to feed a hot 429 a diet of E85. All of the rubber in the fuel system will need to be replaced with updated compatible equivalent.

E85 is approx 105 octane. 11 : 1 compression seems a little low. A cam ground specificly for alcohol can give you more dynamic compression to help take advantage of the increased octane. You will also want more aggressive ign timing to get alcohol to make power.
